Back from Antarctic mission

09 Feb 2012

Back from the Antarctic mission during which we drove through unknown territories between Vostok and Concordia, with snow radar acquisition which will prove very useful in the frame of the IPICS "oldest ice" challenge. Our stop at the site called "Point Barnola" (a legacy to our colleague Jean-Marc) allowed us to drill down to 110m of depth. We have thus been able to address  the scientific objectives of the ANR project DOME A.

This expedition was the opportunity for an unusual press conference between the CNRS headquarters and us, being live at Concordia station !
