Measurement campaign at Reno

from 24 Aug 2011 to 23 Sep 2011

together with Xavier Faïn, our American colleagues (DRI, Reno, Nevada ; OSU, Corvallis, Oregon) and Danish colleagues (CIC, Copenhagen), we have successfully conducted a measurement campaign of the NEEM S1 ice core drilled in Greenland last June. 340 meters of ice were analyzed in continuous flow mode and with an unprecedented resolution and precision, thanks to our SARA optical detector quantifying both methane and carbon monoxide. Our instrument (left picture) was coupled to a continuous flow system at DRI-Reno, through an interface jointly conceived with CIC. A true cornucopia of scientific results, including many surprises !
